Welcome to the world, little ones! It’s been waiting for you!

Your decision to adopt a Lumar Labradoodle is exciting and we are looking forward to working with you to help you find the perfect puppy for YOUR unique family!

Maggie and Jack’s two little boys arrived on June 24. Mama and babies are doing great! These puppies are healthy and thriving. They have red fleece coats. My teenagers have nicknamed them Tom & Jerry, based on the beloved cartoon characters that we all grew up with! Tom and Jerry’s eyes will be open in a few days and we’ll have some new pictures for you then!
We have a list of other recommended supplies, such as shampoo, crate, and toys, under Puppy Care.
At this time we recommend you begin preparing to bring puppy home. The first step is to order your PawTree Puppy Starter Kit! PT is “All Live Stages” and will meet your puppy’s nutritional requirements. Your puppy will be eating PT when he or she comes to you and will have been exposed to several of the flavors of kibble. We like the salmon, duck, and turkey best! (If you are interested in learning more about the Grain-free foods controversy, read here.) You will find the essential nutrition and treat products that Lumar recommends to get your puppy off to a great start! https://shop.pawtree.com/lumar/myrecommendation/Products-Lumar-Loves

Administer Heartgard to your puppy every month for heartworm prevention!

We especially recommend reading:
The Puppy Primer by McConnell
If you have children, the book “Raising Puppies & Kids Together: A Guide for Parents” by Silvani is a must-read as well!
This is an important time to look for a qualified TRAINER to help you being teaching your puppy. You will want to start Puppy Kindergarten GROUP classes as soon as you bring puppy home! We also highly recommend an online training program called Baxter & Bella. You can receive a substantial discount using our code “LUMAR25”! https://www.baxterandbella.com/
Crate: we always recommend purchasing a NEW (not used) crate because you don’t know where a used crate might have come from and whether it could be contaminated. We like the crate with a divider because when your puppy is small you can use the divider to keep his space small, which helps with potty training. When your pup is grown you can remove the divider and he has more space. We also like the crate with two doors, and we prefer a heavy-duty metal crate over plastic because it will last many years. The size we recommend for your litter is 36 inches.
The pickup time for your puppy is Thursday, August 19 around 10-11 am. Pickup will be done socially distanced for the safety of everyone involved. We will assign your individual pick up time at a later date. We ask you to be prompt out of respect for the family coming in behind you!
Blessings, Kristina & the Lumar Crew
